Genealogy Research
We cannot perform genealogy research for you. We simply do not have the time and personnel to help you find your ancestors. Fortunately, the nonprofit organization Family Search photographed and digitized all of the Probate Court’s records a few years ago. You can, therefore, search for your Morgan County ancestors for free and from home at www.familysearch.org
The Probate Court’s physical records are public records (except for adoptions) and are available for you to view in person. Again, we will give you access to the records but we cannot search the records for you.
Will and Estate records are available from 1860 to the present.
Marriage licenses are available from 1860 to the present.
Birth and death records are maintained by the Morgan County Board of Health. Certified copies of death certificates are available for a small fee. Contact the Health Board at www.morganpublichealth.org.
